TEETER, Elbert O. Jr. -- Elbert O. TEETER Jr., 81, of Bonaparte, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

TEETER, Elvert O. -- Elvert O. TEETER Jr., 81, of Bonaparte, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

A service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Great River Hospice may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 30011 250th St., Bonaparte 52620.

Mr. TEETER was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Fairfield, the son of Elvert O. and Opal ROBERTS TEETER. He married Barbara A. BAILY Feb. 23, 1947, in Mediapolis. She died Oct. 22, 2005.

Mr. TEETER graduated from Fairfield High School. He was a draftsman at Fairfield Engineering in Fairfield, Mid-States Manufacturing Company in Milton and Caterpillar Company in Peoria, Ill. He also operated Bonaparte Lumber Company and was a self-employed tax accountant for the past 56 years. He lived most of his life in the Bonaparte community.

Mr. TEETER was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Bonaparte Lodge No. 73.

He enjoyed carving wood and made duck decoys, clocks and other wood items.

Survivors include two sons, Matthew TEETER and wife Donna and Robert TEETER and wife Ruth, all of Bonaparte, and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ned TEETER; and one sister, Janet MARSHALL.
