KERBY, Wilma E. -- Wilma E. KERBY, 85, formerly of Milton, died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral was held this morning at Milton Christian Church, with the Rev. Justin De Vries officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Memorials to Milton Christina (sic) Church or Van Buren Good Samaritan Center may be mailed to the family at 1002 E. Franklin St., Bloomfield 52537.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mrs. KERBY was born May 21, 1922, near Coatsville, Mo., the daughter of Fredric R. and Florence LAMB WELDON. She married Gordon D. KERBY June 26, 1940, in Kirksville, Mo. He died Nov. 19, 1994.

Mrs. KERBY graduated from Lancaster High School in Missouri. She was a homemaker and had lived in Milton more than 60 years.

Mrs. KERBY was a member of Milton Christian Church and Christian Womens Fellowship.

Survivors include one son, Mike KERBY of Chesterfield, Va.; four daughters, Linda MELVIN of Bloomfield, Nancy GORDON of Surprise, Ariz., Joyce SEAGER of Fort Scott, Kan., and Karen MAY of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda QUINT of Kirksville, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leslie and Fredric Earl WELDON; and one infant sister, Iris Lorene WELDON.
