MANNING, Elizabeth Donna -- Elizabeth Donna MANNING, 16, of Brighton, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in a farm-related accident.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Fairfield High School gymnasium, with the Rev. Wayne Wilken officiating and the Rev. Marvin Robeck offering the reading. Following the service at the high school, a private family service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville. Interment will follow in Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Germanville.

Open visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for Miss MANNING's younger sisters.

Cards and memorials may be sent to 3025 125th St., Brighton 52540.

Miss MANNING was born March 2, 1991, in Iowa City, the daughter of Craig and Mary SCHANTZ MANNING.

Miss MANNING enjoyed helping others and spent the summer of 2006 involved in mission work around the state for the Children Evangelism Fellowship. She loved children and worked for Fairfield's Community Child Care Center.

She was a member of 4-H Round Prairie Echoes and FFA. She was on the Fairfield Girls' Cross Country team and the A.S.A. Softball team sponsored by Raymond Funeral Home.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville and Hope Lutheran Church Luther League. She was the first runner-up at the 2007 Midwest Old Thresher's Reunion Sweet 16 contest in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Emily and Amber; and her maternal grandparents, Donald and Mary SCHANTZ of Washington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Donna MANNING.
