LOLLAR, Cynthia May -- Cynthia May LOLLAR, 72, of Brighton, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Columbia University Medical Center in Columbia, Mo.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Victory Fellowship Church in Brighton, with the Rev. Don Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery in Rome, Iowa.

Open visitation is from noon to 9 p.m. today at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Victory Fellowship Church.

Mrs. LOLLAR was born Feb. 25, 1935, on the family farm near Oakland Mills, rural Mount Pleasant, the daughter of J. Emil and Inez G. BISHOP SCARFF. She married Loy Ray "Barney" LOLLAR June 17, 1962, at Oakland Mills Community Church. He died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.

Mrs. LOLLAR attended Oakland Mills School and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. She worked at Bell Law Office and De Vol Nursing Home, both in Mount Pleasant. She went on to graduate as a registered nurse from Burlington School of Nursing. Mrs. LOLLAR interned at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, then returned to Mount Pleasant and began a nursing career at Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute. For a brief time, she accepted a nursing position in the pediatrics unit at Burlington Medical Center. She returned to the Mental Health Institute, from which she retired with combined service tenure of more than 30 years.

Mrs. LOLLAR was a charter member of Victory Fellowship Church in Brighton. She and her husband completed a church mission trip to El Salvador. She participated in the Rough Riders Saddle Club in Lockridge.

She enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzle books and reading.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy DANIELSON and husband Carl of Buffalo, Wyo., and Lori RANFELD and husband Kevin of Lebanon, Mo.; one adopted daughter, Roxana MARTINEZ of Brighton; three sisters, Jean LEICHTY of Villisca, Thelma CROW of West Burlington and Karole MILLER of Wayland; and five grandchildren.

In addition to husband (sic), she was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister, Emily Sue SCARFF.
