Shyla Marie Mertens, 15-days-old, died at 3:11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at her home in rural Donnellson.

The funeral was today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1498 130th St., Donnellson 52625.

The infant was born Nov. 30, 2006, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, the daughter of Kurt and Carla Parker Mertens of rural Donnellson.

Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Darian and Dylan; one sister, Sierra, all at home; and grandparents, Gerald and Dorothy Mertens of Donnellson and Gary and Selma Parker of Bonaparte.
