Leroy Milton Smith, Jr., 47, of West Burlington died at 6:34 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, at Great River Medical Center ER in West Burlington.

Born February 4, 1960 in Fairfield, Iowa he was the son of Leroy M. and Velma M. Robinson Smith.

Mr. Smith worked for Tyson Foods. He enjoyed NASCAR races, the Dallas Cowboys, mushroom hunting, and WWE Wrestling. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Stacia R. Smith of West Burlington; one son, Jordan Lee Smith of West Burlington; his father, Leroy M. (Sheila) Smith of Fairfield; his mother, Velma M. Smith of Burlington; two sisters, Denise (Jamie) Pearson of Burlington and Charity L. Smith of Fairfield; two brothers, Marty K. Smith of Alexandria, Va. and Jeffrey L. (Daniella) Smith of Chicago; his fiancee, Kelli Saylor of West Burlington; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel where the family will receive friends.

The funeral for Mr. Smith will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church in Burlington with the Rev. Shane McCampbell officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial in memory of Leroy M. Smith, Jr. has been established.
