Gale Robert “Mike“ Mike” Lyon, 87, of Fairfield, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at his home.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Lyon was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Stockport, the son of Sam and Mamie Logan Lyon. He married Evelyn Asire in 1946. She died Jan. 13, 2005.

Mr. Lyon was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a graduate of Parsons College. He was self employed as a carpenter, specializing in woodworking. Mr. Lyon was a member of Fairfield American Legion Post 47.

Survivors include his sister, Virginia Phillips of Birmingham.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Pauline; and one infant brother, Woodrow.
