Elsie O. Luedtke, 93, of Fairfield died Friday, January 13, 2006.

A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Brase officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

A visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the family present. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Elsie was born April 23, 1912, the daughter of Ernest Theodore and Augusta (Schroeder) Luedtke.

She grew up near Four Corners, north of Lockridge, IA, and attended Ft. Madison Business College in Ft. Madison, IA. She worked for the M. A. Ford Manufacturing Company in Davenport for several years. She returned to Fairfield in 1960 and was a secretary with Philco in Fairfield before joining the Jefferson County Auditor’s office. She retired in 1979 after 13 years there, and was Deputy County Auditor at the time of her retirement.

She was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairfield.

Surviving are nieces and nephews including Gene Luedtke, Fairfield, IA; Edna Scully, Ottumwa, IA; Dean Anderson, New London, IA; Raymond Anderson, Champaign, IL; Delbert Luedtke, Peoria, IL.; Tony Luedtke and Donnie Luedtke; and many great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, August Luedtke and Martin Luedtke, and two sisters, Anna Anderson and Helen Luedtke.
