Mabel Beatrice Boggs Lucas, 88, of Kennesaw, Georgia died February 14, 2006.

She was born August 26, 1917 nears Douds, Iowa. Mabel was the daughter of Lila May Lewis and Royal Everett Boggs. She was a member of the First United Methodist church, Log Cabin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution in Fairfield, Iowa and Order of the Eastern Star #414 in Kennesaw, Georgia. She spent many years attending Rebecca Lodge, working with the Girl Scouts, and was Senior State President of Iowa Children of the American Revolution for 4 years. Quilting was her hobby. Mabel won several awards at quilt shows. Her pastime was genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, Harold Lucas, 3 brothers Lloyd, Clifford and Herbert, son, Marvin Lee Black, and grandson, Randy Lee Black. Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Ann and husband Regan Peebles, 2939 Southshore Dr Macon, Georgia 31204, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

At her request, her body was cremated. The burial will be at a later date at Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Iowa or the American Heart Foundation.
