LENHART, John Edward -- On Sunday, 8-19-07, John Edward LENHART, age 74, went home to be with the Lord. Throughout his illness and his passing, he was surrounded by his family.

John was born 1-13-33, in Omaha, NE., the son of Aaron E. LENHART and Lela Leone LIPSETT.

John served our country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, 1952-1954, having received a purple heart.

John attended Jefferson Schools and graduated from the Fairfield High School. John received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Iowa State University, completed graduate work at the University of Nebraska, and received his MBA from West Coast University.

He was employed at Purex Corporation for over 30 years in many supervisory positions as an efficiency expert. He served on the National Corporation Board 2 years.

John enjoyed playing the organ, traveling, watching football, basketball, and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor, was a loving husband, a wise Dad and a proud Papa.

John married his wife Jean in 1962. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jean LENHART of Hemet, Cal., two daughters: Jill and Jim SCHAFER, Corona, Cal.; and Christina and Darik WALTON, Costa Mesa, Cal.; and triplet Grandchildren: Taylar, Tanner, and Tarrah-Mackenzie SCHAFER; Sisters: Donna LEATHERS, Fairfield, Iowa and Dolores & Dean COLLINS, Letts, Iowa; and seven special Nephews.

Military Services will be held September 4, 2007, at Riverside National Cemetery.

In an email from Christina “Tina” Lenhart - Walton, she stated "My Dad did not receive a purple heart in the Army, My Dad did receive a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal & Bronze Star Attachment, and United Nations Service Medal."
