CUNNINGHAM, Esther Louise -- Esther Louise CUNNINGHAM, 88, of the Good Samaritan Home, Keosauqua and formerly of Douds, died September 8, 2007 at Good Samaritan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham. The Rev. Michael Mosier will officiate at the service. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemtery, Birmingham. Friends may call from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham. Esther was born August 15, 1919 at Birmingham. She was the daughter of Earl and Hazel CARL FILSON. She graduated from Birmingham High School with the class of 1936. On January 10, 1942 she was united in marriage with Ezra Lawrence CUNNINGHAM at Kahoka, Missouri. Esther worked for a brief period at Universal as a seamstress. She was a member of East Union Ladies Aid, Bonnet Club and the Zion Bible Church at Douds.

She is survived by a daughter Linda CUNNINGHAM of Douds; one son, Keith (Sue) of Douds; three grandchildren, Cassie CUNNINGHAM of Iowa City, Shelbee CUNNINGHAM of Mt. Pleasant, Clinton CUNNINGHAM at Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Raymond FILSON of Birmingham, Van FILSON of Birmingham; one sister, Ruth CARTER of Douds and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Allen and Edward. And a daughter-in-law, Dorothy CUNNINGHAM.

Memorials may be given in Esther's name to the Van Buren Good Samaritan Home, Activity Fund.
