Paul E. Lambert, 86, of Selma, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Paul E. Lambert, 86 of rural Selma, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at home.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Selma united Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carl Benge and the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery in Selma.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Iowaville Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 12607 Eagle Drive, Selma 52588.

Mr. Lambert was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Eldon, the son of Clarence and Dorothy Elizabeth Hawker Lambert. He married Helen M. Blackburn June 20, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Lambert graduated from Selma High School in 1939. He lived in the Eldon and Selma area most of his life. He farmed and worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 35 years as a brakeman and conductor.

Mr. Lambert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Lambert was a member of Selma United Methodist Church. He also was a member of American Legion John Hyson Reneker Post No. 494 of Douds and United Trainmen’s Union.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Hughes and husband Arden and Susan Spees and husband Kim, all of Selma; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Gretchen Kinnamon of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald and Hal Lambert; and one son-in-law, Donald Benge.
