Myrtle M. CARMICHAEL

Myrtle M. CARMICHAEL, 104, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. CARMICHAEL was born Jan. 24, 1903, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Edward and Ora May HUDSON BONNETT. She married Ralph A. CARMICHAEL Dec. 4, 1923, at the Christian church parsonage in Fairfield. He died March 27, 1981.

A lifetime resident of Van Buren and Jefferson counties, Mrs. CARMICHAEL graduated from Libertyville High School in 1921. She was a homemaker and member of the Good Cheer Society.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary STULL and husband N.L. of Cedar Rapids, Patty MORRIS of Fairfield and Donna STEED and husband William of Clinton; one son, Robert CARMICHAEL and wife Jane of Shenandoah; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty LONEY; her parents; two sisters, Ercel and Birdie BONNETT; six brothers, John, Carl, Glenn, Edward, Raymond and Russell BONNETT.
