WEBER, Mark E. -- Mark E. WEBER, 86, of Keota, died today, Friday, July 20, 2007, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

Arrangements are pending at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota.

WEBER, Mark E. -- Mark E. WEBER, 86, of Keota, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

A Mass of the Resurrection was held this morning at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Mary Cemetery.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Arrangements are in the care of Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota.

Mr. WEBER was born March 24, 1921, near Clear Creek, the son of John B. and Caecilia PEIFFER WEBER. He married Dolores B. VOGEL Oct. 30, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. She died in 2000.

Mr. WEBER served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. WEBER and his wife lived and farmed in the Keota community, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church.

He enjoyed wood crafting and having coffee with friends.

Survivors include five children, Sandra WILLIAMS and husband Dwight of Richland, Sara VEERHUSEN and husband Dan of Cedar Rapids, Linda McNURLEN and husband Charlie of Carlyle, Ill., Greg WEBER and wife Pat of Keota and Annette NELSON and husband Roger of Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; five brothers, Norbert WEBER of Keota, Wilfrid WEBER of Portsmouth, Va., Paul WEBER of Keota, Isidore "Doc" WEBER of Kalona and J. Anthony WEBER of Washington; and three sisters, Rita VOGEL of Keota, Martha KLEINMEYER of Iowa City and Celeste WOLTERING of Keota.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas; one grandson; one sister, Bernadine CONKLIN; and four brothers, Cletus, Clare, Luke and Edward.
