Aaron L. 'Dutch' FELLOWS

Aaron L. "Dutch" FELLOWS, 99, of Douds, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital Living Care Center.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Private burial of cremains will be in Leando Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Celestial Lodge or Leando Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 14016 Walnut St., Douds 52551.

Mr. FELLOWS was born Dec. 17, 1907, on the family farm between Douds and Keosauqua, the son of Theo D. and Mary RATCLIFF FELLOWS. He married Wilda L. ANDERSON June 4, 1931, in Bloomfield. She died June 20, 2003.

Mr. FELLOWS graduated from Douds-Leando High School in 1926. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He farmed and had been self-employed as a trucker. He had been a painter, had worked in Douds area coal mines and Douds Quarry, had owned and operated an auto repair shop in Douds and had been a mechanic for several years at Parsons Chevrolet and Keosauqua Motor Co. During his retirement, he worked part time at Pedrick Home Center in Douds. He had resided at the Living Care Center since June 2003.

Mr. FELLOWS was a 62-year member and past master of Celestial Lodge No. 413, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Douds and a 59-year member and past patron of Twin City Chapter No. 258, Order of Eastern Star of Douds.

He enjoyed reading and collecting guns and coins.

Survivors include one son, Ted FELLOWS and wife Judy of Douds; one daughter, Clara F. WILLIAMS of Carmichael, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy D. FELLOWS; one son-in-law, Fred WILLIAMS Jr.; one grandson; and two sisters, Charlotte REDDICK and Willa HENDRICKS.
