Hazel I. JONES, 81, of Pittsburg died at 1:12 a.m. today, Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A service is set for 2 p.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery.

Open visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with family present from 3-4 p.m. Memorials to Pittsburg Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 207 E. Monroe Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. JONES was born Jan. 16, 1925, near Mount Zion, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Rolison EWING. She married Hubert E. JONES April 2, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo. He died June 30, 2003.

Mrs. JONES graduated from Keosauqua High School. Early in life, she taught school and worked at Fairfield Glove Company for 31 years. She lived in Keosauqua and Fairfield until moving to Pittsburg in 1989.

Mrs. JONES had been president of the VFW and Eagles Auxiliaries in Fairfield.

Survivors include three sons, Robert and wife Pat of Guttenberg, Richard and wife Beckie of Fairfield, and Michael and wife Melinda of Red Wing, Minn.; two daughters, Carol MIKSCH, and husband Larry of Littleton, Colo. and Sharon EWING of Mount Pleasant; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie ORR of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Merle “Bud” EWING.
