Tues., Dec. 26, 2006, p. 8.Carolyn Ann JUHL, 80, of Clear Lake died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Good Shepherd Card Center in Mason City.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason City, with the Rev. Kris Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Thornton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to a Carolyn Ann JUHL memorial fund.
Mrs. JUHL was born May 21, 1926, in Tampa, Fla., the daughter of William Jefferson and Mattie Stewart MALOY. Her parents died when she was 3, and she was raised by relatives and friends of the family. She married Dallas L. JUHL April 10, 1949, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. JUHL graduated from Thornton High School in 1945 and attended La James School of Cosmetology. She worked in Mason City.
Mrs. JUHL and her husband lived in Thornton where she operated a beauty shop until 1952. They then moved to Mason City where they lived until 1980 and where she also operated a beauty shop. She and her husband then moved to their present home north of Clear Lake.
Mrs. JUHL was a member of Clear Lake Am Vets and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason City.
She enjoyed making ceramics, gardening, canning, going for rides, going to casinos, camping and spending time with her animals and grandchildren.
Survivors include seven children, Lois KREMER and husband Don of Fairfield, Sue OKONES and husband Steven of Des Moines, Steven JUHL and wife Arla of Mason City, Randy JUHL of Clear Lake, James “Duff” JUHL and wife Barbara of Mason City, Kent JUHL of Clear Lake, and Dana HINNENKAMP and husband Mark of Hanlonotwn: 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence MALOY.
