MULLIKIN, Leila -- Leila MULLIKIN, 79, of Brighton, died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, at home.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation, with the family present, will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

A memorial to Iowa City Hospice has been established.

Mrs. MULLIKIN was born June 15, 1928, near Brighton, the daughter of Clarence and Clara PALM BROWN. She married Wesley MULLIKIN Oct. 29, 1948, in Independence.

Mrs. MULLIKIN attended area schools and lived in Brighton all her life. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in his auto parts store.

Mrs. MULLIKIN was a member of Brighton United Church, Martha's Circle, Brighton United Church Women, bible study groups, TTT of Brighton and the Pythian Sisters. She assisted with congregate meals at the church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Robert MULLIKIN of St. Louis, Mo., two daughters, Pam BLOOM and husband Nick of Cedar Rapids and Ruth Ann WIELAND of Ainsworth; six grandchildren; one sister, Josephine GREEN of Wayland; and four brothers, Doyle BROWN and Clarence BROWN Jr., both of Washington, Kenneth BROWN of Mount Pleasant and Dale BROWN of Jackson, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Virginia CARRIS; and one brother, Leland BROWN.
