MERCER, Barbara Sue -- Barbara Sue MERCER, 68, of Fairfield, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at home.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association. Cards and memorials may be sent to 2111 Osage Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. MERCER was born July 17, 1938, in Fairfield, the daughter of Robert J. and Frances Opal BLACK PRUNTY. She married Dennis Lee MERCER Oct. 31, 1952, in Fairfield.

Mrs. MERCER lived all her life in the Fairfield community. She was employed as a waitress at the Mac Cafe for 16 years.

Mrs. MERCER was a member of Free Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and pets, crocheting, cooking and sewing. She was known to fellow citizens band radio users by her handle "Hashslinger."

Survivors include her husband; five children, Taffa MOORE and husband Richard of Selma, Steven MERCER and wife Barbara of Waynesboro, Ga., Kathryn SINN and husband Kevin of Fairfield, Timothy MERCER and wife Jean of Fairfield and Patrick BRINKMEIER and wife Caroline of Florida; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert PRUNTY of Tiskiliwa, Ill, and Vern PRUNTY; and one sister, and Elaine LEWIS of Alvarado, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Roberta; and one grandson.
