MARTIN, Hadley, N. -- Hadley N. MARTIN, 73, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after a brief illness.

Private family memorial services will be held in Santa Fe and Fairfield, Iowa at a later date.

Mr. MARTIN was born August 10, 1933, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Edward A. and Alta L. VAN DYKE MARTIN and was raised in Fairfield, Iowa. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951 and the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 through 1957. He married Jean McGIFFIN on April 27, 1958 in Fairfield, Iowa.

Mr. MARTIN worked alongside his father at Martin Drug in Fairfield until his relocation to Beardstown, Illinois, in 1974 to own and operate Martin Pharmacy there. He returned to Fairfield in 1984 until his retirement to Florida in 1994.

Mr. MARTIN married Patricia Ann WALLARAB on March 4, 1998 in Naples, Florida. They resided in Santa Fe where he continued to work part-time as a Pharmacist until his death. A warm, caring, and loving individual, he touched many lives throughout his Pharmacy career.

He was a member of the United Church of Santa Fe, member and past president of the Fairfield Golf and Country Club, BPOE, and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He enjoyed golf, gardening, and walking.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Thomas (Mary) MARTIN of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Matthew MARTIN of Woodruff, Colorado; daughter, Elizabeth (Gary) BOYLE of Santa Fe, New Mexico; stepson, Brent WALLARAB of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Alta Marie and Nicholas MARTIN, Annie WALLARAB, and David CONN; sister, Christine (Dan) LEARY of Pittsford, New York; and brother, John (Deb) MARTIN of Fairfield, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Doris J. MARTIN, and stepdaughter, Dawn CONN.

Memorials may be made to the United Church of Santa Fe, 1804 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505, the Odyssey Hospice, 1911 5th Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505, or the Fairfield Public Library, 104 West Adams, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
