MARTIN, Hadley N. -- Hadley N. MARTIN, 73, died Friday, June 15, 2007, in Santa Fe, N.M., after a brief illness.

Private family memorial services will be held in Santa Fe and Fairfield at later dates.

Memorials may be made to United Church of Santa Fe, 1804 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, NM 87505; Odyssey Hospice, 1911 Fifth St., Santa Fe, NM 87505; or Fairfield Public Library, 104 W. Adams Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. MARTIN was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Ottumwa, the son of Edward A. and Alta L. Van DYKE MARTIN. He married Jean McGIFFIN April 27, 1958, in Fairfield. He later married Patricia Ann WALLARAB March 4, 1998, in Naples, Fla.

Mr. MARTIN was raised in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951. He graduated from the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. Mr. MARTIN worked alongside his father at Martin Drug in Fairfield until his relocation to Beardstown, Ill., in 1974 to own and operate Martin Pharmacy there. He returned to Fairfield in 1984 until his retirement to Florida in 1994. He and his second wife resided in Santa Fe, where he continued to work part time as a pharmacist until his death.

Mr. MARTIN was a member of United Church of Santa Fe, member and past president of the Fairfield Golf and Country Club, BPOE and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and walking.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas MARTIN and wife Mary of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Matthew MARTIN of Woodruff, Colo.; one daughter, Elizabeth BOYLE and husband Gary of Santa Fe, N.M.; one stepson, Brent WALLARAB of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren; one sister, Christine LEARY of Pittsford, N.Y.; and one brother, John MARTIN of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Doris J. MARTIN; and one stepdaughter, Dawn CONN.
