KNOWLES, Laura E. -- Laura E. KNOWLES, 70, of Stockport, died at 7:46 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stockport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 215 N. Main St., Stockport 52651.

Mrs. KNOWLES was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin and Marjorie CLARK HEINOLD. She married Gordon A. KNOWLES July 31, 1954, at First Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mrs. KNOWLES grew up in Morton, Ill., and lived in Arlington, Va., 20 years in Peoria, Ill., Tucson, Ariz., Fairfield and the past 28 years in Stockport. She had been employed as a waitress at several different restaurants incuding at Hotel Manning in Keosauqua and The Raj in Fairfield.

Mrs. KNOWLES was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed cooking, dancing and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Sheri ANDERSON of Bloomington, Ill., Marla KNOWLES of Fairfield and Teresa KNOWLES of Fairfield; one son, David KNOWLES of Stanford, Ill., one stepson, Kriss KNOWLES of Batavia, Ill., 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Bonnie HEINOLD of Peoria, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
