WAGES, LaVern -- LaVern WAGES, 64, of Exline, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in Davenport.

A service was held this morning at Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the Rev. Howard Luscan officiating. Burial was in Exline Cemetery in Exline.

A memorial has been established to the family. Memorials may be mailed to Tammy NEFF, 2351 Cedar Ave., Batavia 52533.

Mr. WAGES was born June 3, 1942, in Exline, the son of LeRoy and Edna CLINE WAGES.

Mr. WAGES grew up in Exline and attended Exline schools. He was a truck driver for much of his life. He also worked for Joiner and Cicco Construction Companies.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, hanging out with his friends, mushroom hunting and farming.

Survivors include three children, Tammy NEFF and husband Lynn of Batavia, Jason WAGES of Kansas City, Mo., and Kevin CUBBAGE and wife Susan of Fairfield; four sisters, Evelyn HENDERSON of Exline, Marilyn SHERBONDA of Davenport, Jinnie WEGGEN of Davenport and Diane LAMB of Davenport; three brothers, LeRoy WAGES of Nevada, Gary WAGES of Bethany, Mo., and Wendell WAGES of Exline; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Carletta WEST, Juanita CARLSTROM and Shirley BENNETT HERRING; and one infant sister, Eva June WAGES.
