STACY, Guy E. -- Guy E. STACY, 82, of Wayland, formerly of Brighton, died Monday, March 5, 2007, at Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will be present from 7-8:30 p.m. Masonic Lodge servces will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Brighton First Responders or Parkview Home in Wayland.

Mr. STACY was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Jefferson County, the son of Harry and Verna GUY STACY. He married Eva Irene WATERHOUSE Oct. 29, 1944, in Brighton. She died in 1998.

Mr. STACY attended school in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1943. He farmed all of his adult life east of Brighton until his retirement in 1996.

Mr. STACY served on the Washington County Fair Board for more than 30 years. He was a member of Brighton United Church, a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 613 and a member of York & Scottish Rite.

He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, fishing, deer hunting and spending the winter months in Florida.

Survivors include one son, Thomas STACY and wife Lee Ann of Brighton; two daughters, Nancy NABHOLZ of Ottumwa and Diane STACY of Brighton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Lou NIHART; and one son-in-law, Scott NABHOLZ.
