MARTIN, Gerald A. -- Gerald A. MARTIN, 93, of Fairfield, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Nelson Nursing Home activity fund or Jefferson County Parks. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1830 Iris Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. MARTIN was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Fairfield, the son of Alvin and Emma McWILLIAMS MARTIN. He married Mildred Ruth NEISWENGER in 1936. She died Jan. 14, 2004.

Mr. MARTIN was a lifelong resident of the Fairfield community. He farmed all his life.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Galen MARTIN and wife Susan of Fairfield and Everett MARTIN and wife Sharon of Stoutsville, Mo., and three grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; two brothers, Roy and Glen MARTIN; and one sister, Lena MARTIN.
