MAGRAM, Annette Faye -- Annette Faye MAGRAM died peacefully at age 90 on December 19, 2006, in Vancouver, Washington, where she had resided since November 2004. She was born to Louis and Ida BERNSTEIN in Denver, Colorado, on August 12, 1916. She graduated from Oakland Technical High School and later served as a volunteer at the USO during World War II. She was married to Harold MAGRAM for 32 years, until his death in 1976. They had two sons, Ronald and Jonas.
Mrs. MAGRAM successfully operated several retail furniture businesses with her husband, in Oakland, San Leandro, and Hayward, California, and was a member of the Retail Furniture Association until she retired in 1980.
After her retirement, she frequently volunteered at local libraries and regularly tutored immigrant adults and children in English through Literacy Plus. Until 2004, she enjoyed a very active life, playing golf, line dancing, and as a member of the Oakland Women's Rowing Club.
She practiced the TM and TM Sidhis programs for many years.
Mrs. MAGRAM is survived by her two sons, Ronald of Vancouver, WA and Jonas of Fairfield, IA, as well as daughters-in-law Katie and Sandy, five grand-children, one great-grand-child, and other dear family and friends.
A memorial celebration will take place Sunday, January 21, at 8:00 PM, upstairs at Revelations Bookstore in Fairfield. Those unable to attend in person are invited to participate through teleconference. For details, please email jonas at jonas@lisco.com or call 1-641-472-7261.
