HEMM, Darrel Franklin -- Darrell Franklin HEMM, 66, of Birmingham, died Monday evening, Jan. 22, 2007, at his residence.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial have been established (sic) to the Birmingham Fire Department.

Mr. HEMM was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Wapello County, the son of Jess and Jesse EDDY HEMM. He married and later divorced Sharen SAMMONS and later Shirley MOORE McINTIRE. He later married Mary COFFIN.

Mr. HEMM attended school in Selma and Birmingham. His family lived in Selma before moving to the Birmingham community in 1950. He drove truck his entire career, driving for Bill Deutsch, Harvey Condon and most recently for Reiff Grain and Feed.

Mr. HEMM was active in the Birmingham Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Susan GRIGLINE of Mount Pleasant; twin sons, Joe HEMM and wife Terrie of Batavia and Jerry HEMM of Fairfield; two stepsons, Jason McINTIRE and T.W. ROSS and wife Stacy; one stepdaughter, Deb; several grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Edna HEMM.
