Francis Maurice GWINNUP, 92, of Keosauqua, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews (sic - lower case) officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where family will be present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials to Keosauqua Public Library or Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 901 Hilltop Road, Keosauqua 52565.
Mr. GWINNUP was born Dec. 2, 1914, near Mount Sterling, the son of John L. and Gertrude BOWMAN GWINNUP. He married Fern MOFFETT Dec. 7, 1939, in Fairfield.
Mr. GWINNUP graduated from Milton High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. He was a farmer, carpenter and woodworker and was employed several years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Mr. GWINNUP had served on the Keosauqua City Council.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Janet COE and husband Gary of Des Moines; one son, Terry GWINNUP and wife Mary of Vienna, Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha CARTER of Keosauqua.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Thelma MADDEN; and two brothers, Donald and Harold GWINNUP.
