GROSS, Pauline -- Pauline Sierra Sue GROSS, 65, of Mount Pleasant, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007, at her daughter's residence in Mount Pleasant.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Weir and Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev Joseph W. Demeter officiating. Burial will be in the Lockport City Cemetery in Lockport, Ill.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
Mrs. GROSS was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Gordon and Marie D. NIECE CRAIG. She married James Everett GROSS May 18, 1962, in Chicago. He died in January 1986 in Tampa, Fla., from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mrs. GROSS attended the former St. Alphonsus School. She had worked as a cook at the Henry County Home and in the custodial department of Iowa Wesleyan College. Primarily, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Mrs. GROSS enjoyed fishing, mainly so she could be near the water and relax, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Marie FRACARO and husband Richard and Sandra PINSON, all of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Randy GROSS of Mount Pleasant and James GROSS and wife Patricia of Lockridge; six brothers, Damien CRAIG of Fairfield, Lawrence CRAIG of Burlington, Mark CRAIG of Kenosha, Wisc., Stuart CRAIG of Chicago, Peter CRAIG of Mount Pleasant and James Paul CRAIG of Rome, Iowa; one sister, Rose FULLER of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David CRAIG; and two sisters, Karen COTTER and Roseanne CRAIG.
