GASKELL, Robert A. -- Robert A. GASKELL, 65, of Mount Zion, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Burial with military rites by American Legion Beer-Barker Post No. 113 of Keosauqua will be in Pittsburg Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 10-11 a.m.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 22828 180th St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. GASKELL was born Dec. 21, 1941, in rural Keosauqua, the son of Charles E. and Margaret TIEMAN GASKELL. He married Arlene COLE NEDROW Jan. 8, 1965, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Jan. 27, 1999.

Mr. GASKELL served in the U.S. Army in Germany and Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

He worked at Iowa Malleable Iron Company in Fairfield for 17 years and at Stotts Well Company in Birmingham for several years. He also did farm work.

Survivors include one son, Todd GASKELL and wife Diana of Mount Zion; one stepdaughter, Patricia NEDROW of St. Louis; one stepson, Donel Keith NEDROW of California; five grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara HAYNES of Torrington, Wyo., June McINTOSH of Texas and Betty BUMGART of Owatonna, Minn.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy GASKELL; and two brothers, James and Charles A. GASKELL.
