ELSE, Jason ‘Jay’ P. – Jason “Jay” P. ELSE 51 of Fairfield, IA died Friday, March 30, 2007 at his home in Fairfield. A mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 900 Park St in Tama, Iowa. The family will also greet friends for a time of sharing and a Rosary from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, April 5th to be held in DeCoursey Hall of St. Mary’s of Fairfield at 404 N 3rd Street. In lieu of flower memorials, a memorial fund has been established for Spencer and Clare at the Iowa State Bank and Trust of Fairfield at PO Box 1010 Fairfield, IA 52556.

Jay was born October 21, 1955 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, IA, son of John “Jack” T. and Jacqueline STABENOW ELSE. He attended St. Patrick’s grade school in Tama, IA and later graduated from South Tama High School in 1974. He continued his education for two years at Iowa State University in Ames and then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he graduated with a BS degree in Business. He then made his home in Bloomington, MN where he worked for a finance company. In 1981 he moved to Delhi, IA and worked at the Delhi Savings Bank until 2000. On October 28, 1995 he was married to Catherine (Cathy) O’RESKIE in Shoreview, MN. In September of 2000 Jay moved his family to Fairfield where he was Senior Vice Presdent at the Iowa State Bank and Trust Company. Jay was an active member of his communities having served as a volunteer fireman and first responder in Delhi and was a member and president of the Optimist Club of Fairfield. He also was a Third Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife Catherine, a son Spencer and daughter Clare both at home, his mother Jacqueline of Toledo, IA, two brothers, John “Jeff” (Claudia) ELSE of Toledo, IA, and Joel “Joe” ELSE of Bellingham, WA, three sisters, Mary Margaret “Missy” LANG and Sarah (Jack) ELSE both of Cedar Rapids, and Laura (Henry) CROCKETT of Warrensburg, MO, nieces and nephews; Morgan, John and Hunter ELSE, Briley ELSE, Hans, Jake and Elizabeth LANG, Henry “Trey” and Derek CROCKETT and Kristina and Thomas O’RESKIE.
