COOK, John William 'Bill' -- John William "Bill" COOK, 71, of Milton, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Justin DeVries officiating. The casket will remain closed. Cremation will follow the service. Burial, with military rites, will be at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Family visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Hospice of Wapello and Davis counties may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 204 North Van Buren St., Milton 52570.

Mr. COOK was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Keosauqua, the son of Daniel and Lena WILEY COOK.

Mr. COOK lived in Keosauqua, Eldon and Galesburg, Ill., as well as Milton, where he lived most of his life. He attended Milton High School. He worked for the Rock Island and Santa Fe railroads and was a Pinkerton security guard in Ottumwa and Bloomfield.

Mr. COOK served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1956.

Survivors include one son, Scott COOK and wife Rachael of Central City, Neb.; two brothers, Ned "Cotton" COOK of Milton and Kenny COOK of Bloomfield; special friend Dolores COLE of Milton; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Maxine GREENFIELD, Berry LEYDENS, Mary HUNTER and Marjorie BRUCCINI; and three brothers, Larry, Junior and Robert COOK.
