CLINE, Richard P. 'Pete' -- Richard P. "Pete" CLINE, 66, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with Guy Sammons officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasantville.

Open visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Henry County Cancer Fund or American Heart Association.

Mr. CLINE was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Pleasantville, the son of Paul and Gladys BURNHAM CLINE. He married Rose WIGGINS.

Mr. CLINE graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1958 and attended Simpson College for two years earning a degree in welding. He worked at the Mental Health Institute and then was employed at Blue Bird Midwest beginning in 1961 until retiring as a welding inspector in 2002.

Mr. CLINE was a member of the Iowa National Guard for 14 years.

He enjoyed rebuilding cars, reading Westerns, watching Westerns on television and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Kimberly MOFFITT and husband Dan of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Kevin CLINE and wife Mary of Grimes, Kurt CLINE of Fresno, Calif., and Kendell CLINE of Vancouver, Wash.; two stepsons, Darrel WIGGINS of Cedar Rapids and Neville WIGGINS and wife Missy of Keithsburg, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Lorian DAINS of Mount Pleasant, Tammy SCHULTZ and husband Brian of Rome, Barbara CARLSON and husband Emer of Fairfield and Cheryl RICH and husband Joe of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Joan BROWN of Indianola; eight grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arden CLINE; and one grandson.
