Marie M. CARTNAL

Marie M. CARTNAL, 91, a former Fairfield resident, died at 2:13 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at the Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson (note: in Lee Co., IA).

Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Duane Miller officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the VFW Auxiliary or the Donnellson Health Center Alzheimer's Unit.

Mrs. CARTNAL was born Dec. 14, 1907, in Fairfield, the daughter of Jake and Ruth CARTER MILLER. She married Frank C. CARTNAL March 10, 1942, in Memphis, Mo. He died Nov. 5, 1959.

She grew up in Fairfield and lived in Tucson, Ariz., and Des Moines before returning to Fairfield in 1962.

She worked for the Iowa State Income Tax Division of the Revenue Department until her retirement. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her brother Richard MILLER of Fairfield; one niece; one nephew; and one great niece.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bud MILLER and Jake MILLER, Jr.; and one sister: Marge MILLER.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.114. Husband Frank Clifford CARTNAL was married once previous to Marie and divorced. He died in 1959, and his burial place as of this posting is unknown.
