Frank E. BAKER, 85, of Keosauqua died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Keosauqua.

A service is set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the good Samaritan Care Center.

Mr. BAKER was born Dec. 29, 1920, at home near Birmingham, the son of Tazwell and Alvessa Sadler BAKER.. He married Hazel Belle WILLIAMS Feb. 26, 1944, at the home of her parents near Douds.

Mr. BAKER was lifetime farmer and truck driver. He farmed northwest of Libertyville for 52 years. He enjoyed Ham radio, hunting, fishing, country music, rock hunting, travel, camping and his family. He was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center for the past four years.

Mr. BAKER was a charter member of the Fairfield Ham Radio Club and director of Des Moines No. 1 country school. He served as a commissioner for the Soil Conservation Service and had been a member of the Fairfield Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim BAKER of Holts Summit, Mo., and Steve BAKER and wife Ruth of Birmingham; one daughter Kathleen CLOUGH and husband Rusty of Trenton, Mo; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene BAKER; and one sister, Beulah SCOTT.
