After Many Months of Suffering.

Eliza Jane CUMMINS (sic), wife of James CUMMINS, died from heart disease at her home in this city Sunday morning. Deceased was a daughter of John and Martha A. MINOR. She was born in Monroe county, Ohio, May 18th, 1840, was the oldest of nine children, and came with her parents to Iowa in 1855, locating in Fairfield. November 23d of the following year she was married to James CUMMINS, who survives her. Five children were the result of this union, two boys and three girls, three of whom are still living--Mrs. Anna RHOADS of Bedford, Charles L. and Mary E. CUMMINS of this city. Her illness was of long duration, dating back to February of this year, a greater part of which time she was confined to her room. She was compelled to endure intense physical suffering, but she bore it patiently. In early life she joined the Methodist Episcopal church, but twenty years ago united with the Congregational church in this city, of which denomination she remained a devoted member until she was called home. The funeral occurred from the family home Sunday evening, Rev. A. F. Marsh of the Congregational church conducting the services. A large concourse of neighbors and friends followed the remains to their last resting place in the Evergreen cemetery.
