Betty WELLS age 62 of 532 Bryan Road, Ottumwa died Wednesday at the University Hospitals in Iowa City, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the St. Patrick’s church in Ottumwa. Burial will be in the Packwood Cemetery in Packwood.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Betty was born on August 8, 1944, in Fairfield, IA, to Charles and Louise Peck REED of Richland, IA. She was united in marriage to Robert Wells on November 25, 1967. The marriage was blessed with two children, Kimberly and Bradley.

Betty will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, caring individual who donated her time and many skills to people and charities. After retiring from the Ottumwa School District, Betty devoted her energy toward her passions of church, charity, children and grandchildren, whom she delighted in.

Betty was member of Beta Sigma Phi and greatly enjoyed her friend and the charitable activities they were involved in. She most enjoyed her work with Festival of Trees, which annually supports Habitat for Humanity in Ottumwa.

Betty will be greatly missed by her husband Robert, daughter Kimberly (Steve) BRENIZER, son Bradley (Aimee) WELLS and her five grandchildren: Luke, Keaton, & Jake BRENIZER along with Morgan and Lauren WELLS.

Betty is survived by her father, Charles; brothers Gene and Danny; sisters Linda BOTT and Nancy GLANDON.

Memorial gifts may be made to the festival of trees or Habitat for Humanity in care of the Wells family.
