Carlos E. “Red” VAN LANINGHAM, 75, of Fairfield died at 2:58 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the emergency room of Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Mo.

Arrangements are pending at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Carlos E. “Red” VANLANINGHAM, 75, 607 S. 33rd St., died at 2:58 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the emergency room of Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Mo.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, with the Rev. John Walker officiating.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. The casket will be closed. Friends may sign the register book at their convenience Wednesday.

Memorials have been established to the Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mr. VANLANINGHAM was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Summersville, Mo., the son of Thomas and Hazel Humphrey VANLANINGHAM. He married Donna SEDORE March 23, 1954, in Tucson, Ariz.

Mr. VANLANINGHAM grew up in Summersville before moving to Columbia, Mo. He later moved to Fairfield and worked for Dexter, on the Dick Cox farm and for C & O Motors. He also worked as a truck driver for Takn Brothers of Waterloo and was a truck driver for Fairfield Aluminum Company for 23 years prior to establishing Fairfield Leasing Company. Most recently he delivered cars for Fesler’s and Clemon’s.

Mr. VANLANINGHAM served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ron VANLANINGHAM and wife Karen of Bloomfield and Larry VANLANINGHAM of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris DUARTE of Renton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy; four half-sisters; and three half-brothers.
