Mildred A. STRAH, 80, of Keosauqua died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Private burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua.

Open visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Keosauqua Public Library and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 207 First St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. STRAH was born June 8, 1926, near Keosauqua, the daughter of Ray and Claire Gove BROWNLEE. She married Robert C. STRAH May 11, 1945, in Fairfield. He died Aug. 1, 1983.

Mrs. STRAH graduated from Keosauqua High School. She worked many years as a school cook and had been assistant librarian at Keosauqua Public Library.

She had been a Cub Scout leader.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth STRAH of Keosauqua; four sons, Raymond STRAH and wife Patricia of Ames, Duane STRAH and wife Carol of Ames, Ronald STRAH and wife Patricia of Ankeny and Jerry STRAH and wife Donna of San Jose, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; one daughter-in-law, Sue STRAH; and one granddaughter.
