Wallace STOTTS of Birmingham died this morning, Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Wallace STOTTS, 80, of Birmingham, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

A private family service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, with the Rev. Mike Renken officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Mr. STOTTS was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Gibbs, Mo., the son of Elmer Glen and Okla Helm STOTTS. He married Cecelia GROENE March 31, 1951, in Houghton.

Mr. STOTTS was raised in Missouri until his family moved to Farmington in 1938. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1943. He was a resident of Van Buren County for his entire adult life. A farmer all his life, he operated a well-boring service for a few years.

Mr. STOTTS served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; seven children, Christine STOTTS of Keosauqua, Jennifer BOUDIE and husband Rick of Marlboro, Mass., Julia POWELL and husband Tom of Bluffton, S.C., Susan HAVERKAMP and husband David of Springville, Bill STOTTS and wife Darlene of Aloha, Ore., Marilyn STOTTS and husband Pete of Conoga Park, Calif., and Sarah LARKBY and husband Chip of Bluffton, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Thomas Michael STOTTS; three brothers, Frank, Bill and Kenneth STOTTS; and five sisters, Maxine STOTTS, Ruth SMELTSER, Charlotte HUFFORD, Pauline NELSON and Ailene HUFF.
