Margaret O’MEARA, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, in Ottawa, Ill.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Margaret L. Swan O’MEARA, 73, of Ottawa, Ill., formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday morning , April 30, 2006, at Community Hospital of Ottawa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Mueller Funeral home in Ottawa and from 12-1 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County in Fairfield.

Mrs. O’MEARA was born Jan. 8, 1933, in New London, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Dorothy E. Parks SWAN. She married Thomas Allender O’MEARA Jan. 28, 1955, at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant. He died June 17, 1991.

Mrs. O’MEARA was a 1951 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and a 1954 graduate of Saint Anthony School of Nursing. She was a full-time homemaker. While her husband was in the military during most of their marriage, the O‘MEARAS spent time across the United States and in Southeast Asia. After Mr. O’MEARA’S military service, his work in general aviation took them to Europe and other parts of the world.

Mrs. O’MEARA enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia L. LEWIS and husband Carson of Fisher, Ind.; two sons, Michael T. O’MEARA of Little Rock, Ark., and James J. O’MEARA of Ottawa; six grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis MACK; and two brothers, Robert SWAN and John SWAN.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia FREAD.
