Page 8Shirley Adelaide FORKE MACKON MILLHOUSE, 70, of Fairfield, died Friday, April 7, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Thomas Shipley officiating.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mrs. MILLHOUSE was born May 14, 1935, in Pipestone, Manitoba, Canada, the birth daughter of George FORKE and Isabel HALL. She was later adopted by Alexander and Annie HALL MACKON. She married Robert MILLHOUSE Feb. 9, 1954, in Ottumwa. He died Jan. 6, 1991.
Mrs. MILLHOUSE was a graduate of Denby High School in Detroit, Mich. She was employed as a certified nurse’s aide at Nelson Nursing Home for seven years and as a clerk at Wal-Mart for six years.
Survivors include nine children, Debra SMITH and husband Jerry of Fairfield, Robert MILLHOUSE Jr. and wife Dorothy of Batavia, Ronald MILLHOUSE and wife Juanita of Ottumwa, Karen GIBERSON and husband Lon Sr. of Agency, Kevin EDLER and wife Dawn of Toronto, Les EDLER and wife Rhonda of Moline, Ill., Randy COX of Texas, Douglas MILLHOUSE and wife Julie of Fairfield, and Linda FENNER and husband Leonard of Jesup; 30 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon FORKE of Pipestone, Manitoba, and Tom McCRINDLE of Wisconsin; and one sister, Ann MILLER of Pipestone, Manitoba.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her birth and adopted parents; two sisters, Verna FAIRBURN and Ethel FORKE; one brother, George FORKE; and three grandsons.
