Mary Margaret “Maggie” MILLER, 76, of Keosauqua, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Keosauqua united Congregational Church of Christ, with the Rev. Vel Luse officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Keosauqua UCC Church, Keosauqua Library or Friends of Lacey may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Paul MILLER at 26540 Everton Circle, Wyoming, MN 55092 or JoEllen BRANDHORST at 3405 S. Stewart Ave., Sedalia, MO 65301.

Mrs. MILLER was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Pulaski, the daughter of Herman “Hod” and Lorna Tade AUGSPURGER. She married Stanley MILLER May 28, 1950, at Pulaski United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death July 8, 1993.

Mrs. MILLER attended school in Pulaski and graduated in 1947. She attended Parsons College and received her bachelor’s degree from University of Northern Iowa. She taught elementary school for 20 years and retired in 1991. She had worked in Crawfordsville, Monroe, Stockport, Keosauqua and Turkey Valley.

Mrs. MILLER was a member of Keosauqua Congregational United Church of Christ and served as a moderator for several years. She was a member of UCC’s Women’s Fellowship, Alpha Delphian Study Club, Van Buren Retired Teachers, Friends of Lacey, Friends of Keosauqua Library and PEO Chapter I. She directed the Christmas Eve service at her church for many years and appeared in the first three productions of the Van Buren Players.

Survivors include one son, Paul and wife Carol MILLER of Wyoming, Minn.; one daughter, JoEllen BRANDHORST and husband Alan of Sedalia, Mo.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, V. E. “Felix” AUGSPURGER and John AUGSPURGER, both of Des Moines; and one stepsister, Deb PALKO of Valparaiso, Ind.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Lois Augspurger.
