John C. “Johnny” MCINTOSH, 83, of Keosauqua died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Center Chapel United Methodist Church southeast of Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery near the McIntosh farm.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Wolfe Cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 601 Franklin St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. MCINTOSH was born Oct. 3, 1923, on his family’s farm southeast of Keosauqua, the son of Curtis W. and Amanda Lineaweaver MCINTOSH. He married Bertha C. MARSH April 20, 1947, in Farmington.

Mr. MCINTOSH graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1940. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He farmed on the family farm and was a self-employed house painter.

Mr. MCINTOSH attended Center Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of American Legion Richardson-Anthony Post No. 231 of Farmington and Fairfield Eagles Lodge. He had been a member of Fairfield Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Curtis Lee MCINTOSH of rural Keosauqua; two daughters, Marsha CLARK and husband Don of Lake Barrington, Ill., and Judith HARSHMAN and husband Jerry of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth EVANS; and one son-in-law, John BRICKEY.
