Mon., April 24, 2006, p. 10.Nancy Elizabeth LEISURE, 94, of Richland, died at 1:22 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, with the Rev. Shirley Hoffmann Will officiating. Interment will be in Packwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Prairie View United Methodist Church or Richland Library.
Mrs. LEISURE was born April 30, 1911, in Winfield, the daughter of William K. and Maggie C. Yohe CUMMINGS. She married Lawrence William LEISURE Sept. 7, 1947, in Memphis, Mo. He died May 22, 1992.
Mrs. LEISURE graduated from Winfield Consolidated School and received her bachelor’s degree from Parsons College. She began her teaching career in rural schools in Louisa County. She taught for 38 years, including at Ollie and Pekin schools.
Mrs. LEISURE was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Richland Women’s Club and a former member of Packwood Birthday Club and Richland Star Country Club.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Elva CUMMINGS, Lucille DAVIS, Marie GIBBS and Wilma HUDSON.
