Wed., Aug. 16, 2006, p. 8.Cecil W. LENNOX, 85, of rural Douds, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at home.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where family will be present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorial to a charity of the donor’s choice may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 13641 Bethel Rock Ave., Douds, 52551.
Mr. LENNOX was born May 28, 1921, near Delta, the son of Walter and Edna Gilchrist LENNOX. He married Esther JORDAN April 3, 1948, in Oskaloosa.
Mr. LENNOX lived his early life in and around Oskaloosa and moved to the Selma and Douds area in 1949. He farmed and had been employed at Kaser Construction Company, Selma Quarry and American Chain and Cable Company in Fairfield.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sandra RUPE and husband Junior SHONDEL of Douds; two sons, Darrell LENNOX and wife Jolyn of Waterloo and Paul LENNOX of Yankton, S.D.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Don LENNOX of Allerton; and one sister, Helene DARLAN of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gerald LENNOX; one brother, Cloyd LENNOX; and two sisters, Maxine PRICE and Arlene SWANGEL.
