Ronald C. KILBOURN, 86, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Henry County Health Center.

A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nicholas J. Adam officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m., with a Christian Vigil Service at 6 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Henry County Dialysis Unit and Heartland Family Service of Omaha, Neb.

Mr. KILBOURN was born Nov. 30, 1919, near Lowell, the son of William and Grace Conor KILBOURN. He married Margaret RYAN in Phoenix, Ariz. She died in 1953. He married Marian KROGMEIER in 1955 and she died in 1980. He married Caroline Clements HERR in 1988.

Mr. KILBOURN graduated from New London High School. During World War II, he was stationed in Iceland and served in the Army Air Corps. He was a farmer and lived on a farm homestead north of Mount Pleasant until his death.

Mr. KILBOURN was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and served as a trustee for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, where he served as a third-degree grand knight and a fourth-degree faithful navigator.

He enjoyed cooking, and for many years, he cooked chicken for the church tent at Midwest Old Threshers. He also enjoyed gardening, golfing, square dancing and playing cards with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Peter KILBOURN and wife Jill of Mount Pleasant, Randy KILBOURN and wife Deborah of Washington, Iowa, and Mark KROGMEIER and wife Linda of Sperry; one daughter Mary Carolyn and husband Harry THIELE of Omaha, Neb.; three stepsons, David HERR and wife Lori of Springfield, Mo., Bryan HERR and wife DeLinda of Houston, Texas, and Joel HERR and wife Deanne of Newton; two stepdaughters, Monica HADLEY of Fairfield and Anne LAMANSKY and husband Dan of Brighton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.

In addition to his first two wives, he was preceded in death by one stillborn son and two brothers, Glenn KILBOURN and Orville KILBOURN.
