Ronald KIRKHART, 55, of rural Cantril, died at 11:37 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Ronald W. KIRKHART, 55, of rural Cantril, died of cancer at 11:37 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cantril Christian Church, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Cantril Christian Church of Maple Grove Cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29879 Fir Ave., Cantril 52542.

Mr. KIRKHART was born April 27, 1951, in Ottumwa, the son of Jesse L. and Zola Brewer KIRKHART. He married Sharon BUECHEL Oct. 14, 1978, at Saint Mary’s Church in Fort Madison.

Mr. KIRKHART graduated from Fox Valley High School and Indian Hills Community College with a degree in agricultural mechanics. He farmed south of Cantril and had been a long-distance truck driver.

Mr. KIRKHART was a member of Van Buren County Farm Bureau.

He enjoyed his family, friends and farm, as well as traveling.

Survivors include his wife and two sons, Neil KIRKHART of Iowa City and Phillip KIRKHART of Cantril.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
