Beryl E. KERR, 91, of rural Douds, died at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Birmingham, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick funeral Home in Douds, with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorials to Birmingham United Methodist Church may be left at the church or funeral home or mailed to the family at 17203 110th Road, Douds 52551.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.

Mrs. Kerr was born June 2, 1915, near Utica, the daughter of Thomas Irving and Virgie Blache Gall WILLIAMS. She married Veryl R. KERR Sept. 17, 1932, on his family farm near Douds. He died Dec. 25, 1991.

Mrs. KERR attended area country schools and graduated from Birmingham High School in 1932. She lived all of her married life on a farm and was actively involved in the farming operations with her husband. She was a musician, playing her banjo and singing with the Lou Wilhelm Band and in duets with Esther Stump at dances and other celebrations.

Mrs. KERR was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Dale KERR and wife Marilyn of Douds; one daughter, Judy VANNATTA and husband Jeff of Lexington, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beulah PHILIPS of Keosauqua, Faye DOOLEY of Raytown, Mo., and Marjory GOULD of Richland.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Wilda; one grandson; three brothers, Lester WILLIAMS, Arthur WILLIAMS and Robert WILLIAMS; and two sisters, Lucille DOUGHTY and Marie KURKA.
