Lola I. HAYWORTH, 84, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 1:15 p.m. April 6, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Ed Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa, 204 S. Jefferson St., Suite 103, Mount Pleasant, 52641-2161.

Mrs. HAYWORTH was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Pulaski, the daughter of Emery and Dora Loney MELTON. She married Delbert HAYWORTH in February of 1942. He preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1965.

Mrs. HAYWORTH was a resident of Ottumwa for most of her life. She worked at Northwestern Bell for 20 years, retiring in 1986.

Mrs. HAYWORTH was a member of Bible Baptist Church and Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane PALMER of Fairfield and Donna OLSON of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandsons; one sister Leora SIMMONS of Ottumwa; and one brother, James MELTON of Galesburg, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Lowell MELTON and three sisters, Mary MARTIN, Verta HOFFMAN and Gladys ANDERSON.
